We take as much pride in our International Craft Fair as you do when making your crafts so it is important that you take care when setting up your Free booth. It is our goal to provide the most sophisticated Arts and Crafts resource in the world, and by setting up a booth it becomes your responsibility to make sure you provide comprehensive information about your products, and to ensure that your links work and your image displays as you intended. Prior to setting up a booth, we encourage you to browse the Craft Fair to see the way others have assembled their booth contents. You will see that it is definitely first class! Please don't be a slacker, take pride in your booth! We review EVERY NEW BOOTH and we won't hesitate to delete one that appears shabby or incomplete. We also encourage every member to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW before setting up a booth. If you are already working on your booth entry form, just use the 'back-up' feature on your browser when you are ready to continue. NOTE: To set up a FREE booth in the International Craft Fair you must first join Crafters Home Network (that's free too). Access to Booth set-up is provided in our Members Area. General Guidelines
Entering Your InformationRemember, New Booth Listings are NOT POSTED INSTANTLY -- our database updates itself every 1/2 hour. The preview feature will enable you to see exactly what your Booth will look like. Our Booth Listing Entry Form is very thorough so we will address the instructions entry field by entry field. Please follow these instructions carefully for best results. Short Description - This is the text that is displayed in front of your booth description on search results and second level category selections. Enter something that best describes your product or service (i.e. 'Hand-carved Furniture', 'Porcelean Doll Repair', 'Decorated Emu Eggs' etc.) It will also appear as the first line of your listing in BOLD. This field has a 50 character limit INCLUDING SPACES. NOTE: Please DO NOT describe your booth as merely 'Custom Handmade Crafts' -- the Craft Fair is a directory of crafters and almost EVERY MEMBER makes a custom craft! Be Original - Be Specific! Name - Enter your BUSINESS NAME (your own name is okay if you don't have one). This field has a 50 character limit INCLUDING SPACES. Address - Enter your physical street address or your mailing address. You should ALWAYS enter this in case a visitor is including address information in their search (i.e. Dolls, Kansas). If you leave it out, your city and state won't show up either! City, ST, Zip - Self-explanatory. Contact Name - This is the person whose name will appear in the listing. Phone, FAX - This is also self-explanatory, leave blank if you do not wish it to appear. Full URL - If you already have a web page, enter the complete URL of the event home page. Be sure to include 'http://' prefix. Leave it blank if you don't have a web page yet. Image URL - THIS IS IMPORTANT. Your booth will generate more interest if you include a PRODUCT IMAGE! You may use your own image or use a stock image from our graphics library. We prefer it if you upload your image to our server (using our upload utility). Be sure to enter the complete URL of the image including the 'http://' prefix. IMAGES MUST BE UNDER 8KB IN SIZE. Please refer to our IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS if you would like help with your graphics. If you don't want to use an image, leave it blank. Image Width - If you use an image with your listing, you should specify its width in pixels or the image may not display properly. You can force the placement (top or side) by changing the image width in the field (but we prefer if you make the image the proper size to begin with to AVOID DISTORTION). An image you specify as 100 pixels wide OR LESS will appear on the LEFT of the text. An image specified to be OVER 100 pixels wide will be placed on TOP of your text. If you want it on top, please make sure it is exactly 40 pixels high. If you are unfamiliar with the term 'pixels', we offer an excellent Web Graphics Tutorial. Description - Use this field to describe your product or service. Be sure to provide a GOOD DESCRIPTION using appropriate keywords. Plus, people are more apt to visit you link if they see you have taken the time to describe your site. You may use up to 240 characters INCLUDING SPACES. If you need more room use the additional description below. Additional Description - This will create a second paragraph for your listing if you need it. NO HTML PLEASE! You may use up to 240 characters INCLUDING SPACES. Category SelectionDO NOT OVERLOOK YOUR CATEGORY LISTINGS! When you are finished drafting your listing you'll see a Select/Edit Categories button at the bottom of the preview page. When you click it, the category selection page will come up with a navigation menu tree that looks just like the one in the Craft Fair. Simply make your selections on the menu tree any the categories you choose will be entered automatically. You may enter your listing in up to 5 main categories. YOU MUST CHOOSE ALL 3 LEVELS IN EACH CATEGORY!Modifying You BoothThe last section of the form allows you to retrieve a booth listing that you have already placed in in the Craft Fair. (If you are adding a new booth you can simply ignore it.) The key account number is the number appearing adjacent to the title in each booth. This number is assigned by our system automatically when a new booth is set up. It is required to edit or delete a booth so if you have forgotten or misplaced your key number you'll need to go back to the Craft Fair to look it up. When you enter a key number in the respective field and click the retrieve button you will be returned to the top of the Entry Form where your booth information will appear. You can then edit or delete it as you wish. IMPORTANT: Modifications are NOT posted instantly -- our database updates itself hourly. |
